2c Rice Planter Postal Card
17 May 1943
The vermilion chop is an imprint of an official seal of the Commandant
of the Enemy Alien Internment Camp who held office in the University of Sto. Tomas.
It is also struck on two other May 17, 1943 planting rice cards addressed
to other foreigners of German extraction (Hansen and Reighter).

As it has not been seen struck on Rizal or Japocc military cards on any date,
could May 17, 1943 be a very auspicious date to merit philatelic concession
or a special one-day privilege to selected philatelists from the C, EAIC?
First Anniversary of the Great East Asia War
In Combination with a 2-Fen and a 10-Fen Manchurian Stamps
8 December 1942
Reusing a previously censored mail is against postal regulations but the rule
did not apply ostensibly to Mr. K. Yamashita, a longtime resident in the Philippines who,
after the war broke out, was rumored to be part of the Japanese military advance party.
After receiving his December 8 FDC he went to Baguio, affixed two stamps
from Manchuria on it and mailed it back to himself on the anniversary
of the Fall of Manila on January 2, 1943.
